A visit to the city that was home to 20,000 Scots, had a mayor from Scotland and did plenty trade with that country. There are two areas of Gdansk that have the name Scotland but the upheavals of the 20th century has displaced many of the people.
Some Scottish history in Gdansk is at this link. https://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=1688881
The mayor of Warsaw was Scottish and quite a few Polish names are of Scottish origin.
Now home to the Solidarity museum there are many cheap bars and restaurants. This is an excellent guide https://www.inyourpocket.com/gdansk
From Gdansk airport get the bus on route 110.
U Szkota Chlebnicka 9/12, 80-830 Gdańsk Scottish pubs selling Belhaven beers. Never met anypone from Scotland but always fascinated to see what others think Scotland is like. Not a place that I found entertaining but went for one expensive pint.
Irish Pub Piwnica, Garbary 1, 80-827 Gdańsk. Not very Irish but I liked the ambiance here. It’s all in a cellar and manager really friendly.
